After summiting Denali, I returned to Panama, where I arrived by sailboat. From there, I began a kayaking attempt across the Darién Gap, a notoriously complex and dangerous region due to drug and human trafficking. On the final day of the crossing, I was intercepted by an armed group and taken to the port city of Turbo, bringing the attempt to an unexpected end.
From Colombia, I continued south by bicycle through Ecuador, Peru and Argentina. What began as an interrupted crossing evolved into a longterm journey across the continent. The expedition was completed successfully on 10 September 2025. Below, you’ll find the stories and reflections from the journey.
